Prologue!

Yes I have decided to post the whole Prologue on this blog so people can get a view of what the book might be like. It's not just an excerpt its the whole prologue! Enjoy.

His head turned from side to side counting how many skeletons were closing in on him. Each skeleton armed with a sword and shield, moving closer and closer by the second. He held Twilight steady waiting for his moment to strike.

He then shouted "Marksst!" Almost as if on cue the whole area was engulfed in a pitch black sphere of energy. The young warrior charged forward holding his *Butterfly Sword Twilight in his hands. Stabbing forward at one skeleton he kicked at another on coming fiend. He thought he was ready for this fight but all of a sudden he was having doubts. Real doubts. But he never gave up.

Over seeing the fight was the Lich Craven. He looked on and smiled at his dirty work. The boy had potential. Too bad he was too lawful to ever fight on the Lich's side.

When the blackness cleared all that remained were piles of bones, shield, and swords surrounding the warrior. He was only supposed to hold the lich off until help arrived. Where is that help, he wondered. He started worrying that his help didn't survive.

NO, he thought. I will not think that way. They are stronger than that. He looked up at the lich and grinned. He then signaled the lich to come down and fight him one on one. The boy knew this was likely suicide but he had to hold him off so everyone else that he cared about could live. He was not making the same mistake twice...

The lich glided down to confront the boy face to face. Only one would be standing when this fight was over. Either the power hungry millennia old lich or this Sixteen year old warrior fighting for the good of his family and friends.

As the lich landed, he smiled and raised his hands. "Res aus melinko!" He yelled into the night. The boy heard the sound of wings flapping in the distance and realized this was not going to be a one on one fight...

Chapter Two Excerpt

Whilst chapter two has just begun i already have an Excerpt to show you.

Chapter Two - Bok' Naron

Her ruby red scales glowed brightly as the sun reflected off the sweat beading down her back. She returned to the fight and was immediately hard pressed with an enormous silver dragon.

"You'll never get my baby!" She snarled as she lashed at the silver with her barbed tail. He laughed at the red dragon matron, although he knew that dragon mothers protecting their young were increasingly aggressive. Especially after he saw what she did to his younger clan member previously.

"You are that confident Drakna?" Came a raspy voice from above. Floating down as if a dragon was just setting him down on the ground was Craven, the self-proclaimed Lich and Dragon King.

"Hiding your boy will only delay the inevitable my dear matron," He said in his raspy voice. The red couldn't see too much of the lich as he was wearing long black robes and only his golden eyes showed from his hood.

Drakna roared and swung her massive tail at the lich. The lich knowing about the dragons and their abilities, had a shield on himself that absorbed the full blow of her massive tail sending an electric current up the matrons tail and into the rest of her body crippling her to the ground.

"Pitiful," The lich stated and blew into the air towards Drakna, sending the large dragon flying into a nearby mountain side causing the whole mountain to crash on top of her. All anyone heard was her last roar of agony.

"Return to your den Kresst, we have more to do, now that the rest of this red dragon clan is gone." As the lich vanished into a cloud of black smoke it began to rain.

He awoke with a jolt of pain, barely able to breathe...

Chapter One Excerpt

Chapter One - The Orphan

He peaked in from time to time to see how they were doing. The little one getter better and better by the day, he couldn't have been anymore than seven years old. Yet he handled his butterfly sword almost like someone fifteen winters old with the proper training. The boy and his older brother would spar out back of their home one using a sword, while the other used a double-bladed sword. Both kept getting better each day the old man watched.

He would watch as the father and mother would try to hide and protect the little boy. Yet they had no idea what they actually had in their home. Did they even care? He wondered. They still raised him as their own. This showed the old wizard that there are still some uncorrupted people in this world.

The boy was growing up fast. He feared it wouldn't be long before the Imperial Army finds him. He had to keep watch over the family until such time he should pop in for a visit. Until that time came, he would just sit here in his inter-dimensional home between two planes. The only place he was safe from Craven's wrath. Oh yes this boy....he is the one. He thought to himself seeming pleased. He is the one.
